Blinky's Firefox Extensions

Background - Including Something About Opera

I used Opera as my primary browser for years, starting with, if I remember correctly, 5.12. In 2005, Firefox replaced it, largely because of its customizability using a selection of the myriad browser extensions that came on the scene for a new version. Opera is still a fine browser, and I keep an up-to-date copy on all my systems; but FF is now my choice. Sure -- some of the extension-provided capabilities of Foxfire are native to Opera. But surely not all of them, and even if they were, not everyone would need or want them, just like nobody uses the hundreds of FF extensions that are available. So I support making them optional via the extension system Firefox introduced. Want it? Install it. Don't need it? It's not excess baggage because it's not there unless you've installed it.

The following list was generated by a Firefox extension (that I've tweaked for use here). The extension is listed in the list it created. And the extension works with Mozilla's Thunderbird news and mail client, too. See my Thunderbird extensions here.

Application: Firefox 2.0.0.3 (2007030916)
